2025 Bartender Competition

 

After last year’s incredible comp spotlighting female & non-binary bartenders, RHUBI Apéritif is back in 2025—this time bigger, louder, and open to all bartenders & allies.
This year, we’re teaming up with Mix Haus and Fever-Tree to celebrate creativity, inclusivity, and the art of great drinks.

  • Winner takes home: $1,000 cash + stock + media coverage + bragging rights

Why it matters

Every serve helps support Haus of Allies—a Mix Haus initiative creating safer, more supportive hospitality workplaces. Drink well, do good.

How to Enter

  • Create an innovative and bespoke cocktail using RHUBI as the main ingredient (30mL or more), mixed with one of the mixers in the Fever-Tree range.
  • Showcase your creativity! The use of other ingredients are encouraged and welcome, but please keep simplicity at heart (we want everyone to be able to recreate your drink at home or in their venues).
  • Post a photo of the drink on either your personal or represented venue’s Instagram page.
  • Ensure to tag @rhubimistelle, @mixhaus.au and @fevertreeaustralia.
  • Offer the cocktail in venue (minimum 2 weeks).
  • Each participating venue needs to purchase a minimum of 1 x case of Fever-Tree and one bottle of RHUBI to qualify (unlimited numbers of bartenders can participate from the same purchasing venue).

  • Entries open: September 4th
  • Entries close: October 31st
  • Finalists announced: Early Nov
  • Finals: Tuesday November 18th, Runner Up Rooftop, VIC

Venue Requirements

  • Min. 1 case Fever-Tree + 1 bottle RHUBI purchase per venue
  • Multiple bartenders per venue welcome

IMPORTANT - in order to officially enter the comp you need to fill in all the required details in the online submission sheet found here.

What happens next?

Our team will review each submission and judge all entries on paper. Four finalists will be contacted and flown into Melbourne to partake in a bar takeover/IRL bartender comp, hosted by Mix Haus. The winner of the competition will receive $1,000 cash and the bragging rights, as well as inclusion in the post-competition marketing campaign with Boothby.

Judging criteria 

Entries are judged based on:

  • Has the bartender's venue purchased at least one case of Fever-Tree and one bottle of RHUBI to qualify?
  • Has RHUBI been showcased as the star of the cocktail (30ml or more)?
  • Has a product from the Fever-Tree Mixer range been used in the drink?
  • Is the drink easily replicated ie. at home or at a big event?
  • Did the entrant post the drink on their personal social media account, alternatively on the account of the bar they represent - tagging @rhubimistelle and @mixhaus.au and @fevertreeaustralia
  • Is the cocktail easy to replicate in venue / at a large scale event?
  • Did the venue promote the drink for a two week period during the campaign period (1 Sep - 31 Oct)?
  • What was the inspiration behind the drink?
  • What is the name of the drink?
  • Does the drink's composition from the recipe appear to be balanced?
  • Does the photo of the drink visually sell the cocktail?
  • Note: drink can not exceed more than 2 standard drinks.

Finalists presentation
As part of the finalist presentation, the four finalists will be asked to include a brief reflection on how their drink and presence today align with Mix Haus' mission to make the hospitality industry safer and more inclusive.
